About Me

Bridget Rooney, M.S.Ed.

Special Education Teacher | Behavior Specialist | Early Childhood Advocate

I’m a Special Education Teacher with extensive experience supporting young children with developmental delays and disabilities. Certified in New York State to teach students with diverse needs from birth through grade 2, I provide individualized instruction that nurtures growth across cognitive, behavioral, and social-emotional areas.

With a Master of Science in Special Education from Hunter College and a Bachelor’s degree in Classical Music from the Manhattan School of Music, I bring both structure and creativity to my work with children and families.

My approach is deeply collaborative. I work closely with families and related service teams—including speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists—to create cohesive support plans that meet each child’s unique needs. I’m passionate about helping children build emotional regulation skills, participate in meaningful play with their peers, and develop communication and independence in both structured and natural settings.

In addition to working directly with children, I support educators through professional development and coaching. I specialize in practical strategies for managing challenging behaviors, fostering inclusive classroom environments, and strengthening teacher-student relationships.

I provide services in school and community settings, offer family coaching, and lead small-group instruction focused on social-emotional learning. My goal is to empower families, educators, and children alike—creating safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environments where every child can thrive.
